Board action supports continued development of university-owned quantum park facilities

The University of Illinois Board of Trustees today took action to further support development of two important anchor buildings at the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park: the National Quantum Facility and Quantum Works. Trustees also approved a recommendation to transform the historic President’s House in Urbana into an executive event space that will serve the entire University of Illinois System while preserving its historic character.

New state budget provides continued support for higher education

The Illinois General Assembly has approved and Gov. JB Pritzker has signed a state budget for the fiscal year that begins July 1. The spending plan includes a 1% increase in general operating support for the U of I System and other public universities. It provides a $748.7 million operating budget for the U of I System in FY 2027.
