All three universities in the U of I System were ranked highly among public institutions again this year in the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings, with Top 10 ratings in a number of categories.
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign moved up one slot overall to 47th among all national universities and was once again among the top 15 public universities in the nation. The Gies College of Business and Grainger College of Engineering again distinguished themselves with a combined 11 programs ranked among the top ten in the nation and 21 among the top 20.
The University of Illinois at Chicago climbed eight spots to be ranked 52nd among public national universities. UIC ranked among the top 30 ethnically diverse and top 30 economically diverse universities, among both public and private Universities. The University of Illinois at Springfield has been ranked the top public regional university in Illinois & the fourth best public university in the Midwest regional category for a second year in a row.
