The Discovery Partners Institute (DPI) and Illinois Innovation Network (IIN), the pillars of a new statewide innovation enterprise led by the University of Illinois System, will magnify the time-tested formula for job creation and economic growth to a massive, unprecedented scale. They will send a jolt into the research breakthroughs that create new products and services, launch new startup businesses and pave the way for new generations of progress and prosperity.
DPI will be home to literally hundreds of world-class researchers, including top faculty from across the U of I System and leading minds from partner universities from around the world. They will work with thousands of students, with countless businesses large and small, and with entrepreneurs and investors in the heart of Chicago, a truly global city that helps drive the economic fortunes of the state of Illinois and the Midwest.
Through IIN, the research center will connect with satellite hubs across Illinois, capturing the intellectual power of regional academic and business partners to help lift communities in every corner of the state.
With their tremendous scale and the U of I System’s research know-how as an anchor, DPI and IIN can foster pioneering discovery that will bring the nation’s next explosion of jobs to Illinois and the Midwest.
