The following massmail was sent to faculty and staff across the system from President Tim Killeen.
Dear colleagues:
I am pleased to announce that Dr. Beverly Bunch has agreed to chair the committee that will advise Executive Vice President Ghosh and me in the search for the next permanent chancellor of the University of Illinois Springfield.
Dr. Bunch brings twenty years of experience as a teacher, researcher, and administrator at UIS. A well-known scholar in state and local government budgeting & financial management, she is a professor in the School of Public Management and Policy and the Center for State Policy and Leadership. She is the winner of the UIS Star Faculty/Staff Award, UIS Spencer Faculty Service Award, and UIS Faculty Excellence Award.
She has previously taught at the Universities of Texas at Austin and San Antonio and worked for the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), the City of San Antonio budget office, and the Texas Bond Review Board. She currently is leading a team of researchers as part of a national project on state budgets administered by the Volcker Alliance.
I am grateful to her for sharing her time and talents as the chair of the advisory committee. I look forward to working with her and the advisory committee that will be announced shortly. We will provide periodic updates on the search to the campus community, including opportunities, including opportunities to provide input to the search committee.
I will continue to update you on the search including opportunities to provide input into the search process. Information will also be provided on a website to be launched soon.
I am confident that we will find an exceptional leader, one who will lead UIS to a new chapter of achievements and progress. I look forward to working with you as we select the next chancellor who will help chart our future.
Sincerely,
Tim
